GOOGLE APPS OVERVIEW (CALISTOGA)

If you’ve used or tried to use Google Apps before, but are feeling like you could use a refresher  this training is for you. In this session, we will review the following:
  • How to manage your Google Drive (the new drive!)
  • How to upload different file types (images, pdfs, Microsoft files) to your Drive and share them
  • How to convert Microsoft files to a Google file types so you can collaborate with others
  • How to share/invite others to collaborate
  • How to share a form
  • Using goo.gl
  • New features recently added to Google Forms
  • Bring your questions too!!

WEB-BASED VIDEO EDITING WITH WEVIDEO

Video editing doesn’t have to occur on your desktop using specialized software. WeVideo is a FREE  web-based video editor, which means anyone with internet access can create and edit a video to create a professional looking product. Video editing encourages creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration and with WeVideo’s free version, anyone can create a video. In this training participants will:

  • edit video clips
  • add images and audio tracks
  • apply titles and transitions
  • edit audio
  • experiment with themes
  • export
  • locate free and reusable video  footage, images, and audio
  • explore classroom assignments and projects

GOOGLE SITES AND EPORTFOLIOS

Google Sites is yet another free tool available to teachers and students. With Google Sites teachers and students can create a Google Site (aka website) while enjoying easy integration with other Google tools.

In this session we will:

  • Build a Google Site (aka website)
  • Create templates you can push out to your students
  • Focus on how to embed projects/products from other tools into Google Sites
  • Demonstrate how students can develop and create a rich ePortfolio
